Back to Identity

chrisbmn.com also runs as a Tor hidden service - same fingerprints, three extra hops. It's a curiosity project, not a mirror: a small identity/verification page built to see how onion services actually work, not a full copy of the site. Everything else (the blog, tools, everything) still lives here on the light side.

Reaching it takes one extra thing a normal browser doesn't have: Tor Browser. Here's what that means in practice.

Before You Go

  • Tor Browser is the only requirement. No plugins, no config, no special network setup for a page like this one.
  • Leave the window at its default size. Tor Browser deliberately gives everyone the same window dimensions - resizing it hands fingerprinting scripts something to work with.
  • Keep it updated. When it prompts you to update, do it - that's usually a security fix, not a feature nag.
  • The default security level is fine here. Nothing on the onion site needs JavaScript disabled or images blocked, but if you'd rather browse more cautiously in general, the shield icon in the toolbar controls that.

Get Tor Browser

Official Tor Browser download
Windows, macOS, and Linux - straight from the Tor Project, the only source worth trusting.

Install it like any other browser, then open it. First launch shows a "Connect" button - click it and you're circuit-built and ready. If Tor is blocked on your network (some countries, some corporate networks), use "Configure Connection" instead and let it try a bridge; otherwise the default settings need nothing changed.

The Address Itself

This link only resolves in Tor Browser - a normal browser can't look up .onion addresses at all, so it'll open a new tab and fail with a DNS error. That's expected, not broken. No Tor Browser handy? Copy the address above and paste it in later.
